How many agents pass up the opportunity to get multiple listings because they were just not interested in putting out the effort.  Door knocking in my opinion is a great idea to get listings in that, not only does it provide opportunities, it gives you quite a workout.  Here are some ideas to work with.

1.  Conduct door knocking around active listings.

2.  Find a partner to do it with...you will be surprised how time passes when you are having fun

3.  Limit the time to no more than 2 hours

4.  Do it in late mornings or early afternoons

5.  Wear nametag, and dress appropiately

6.  Make flyers from the property around which you are door knocking.

7.  I do my door knocking on the days that I do not workout.  that means I door knock on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  would you like to join me?

This is not all inclusive, so if tou have any ideas or comments, please share...

I, too, believe in door knocking although I don't do it as nearly as I should - actually, only a few times a year.

What percentage of people do you find at home on the weekdays?

Lisa thanks for posting.  I would say that 75 percent are usually not home.  The advantage of this is that I cover more ground.

Spokane Washington Real Estate Expert Yeah, I have not done it in a while, but yes it does work and it's a great way to meet the neighbors. I agree should be done by you listing so people don't see it as trying to drum up business, but instead going the extra mile.

In my town, you would need to register at the town hall.  They will sell you a name tag pass, with your photo on it.  You will need to wear it with a lanyard, around your neck, while you are door knocking here.  So many people are trying to solicit in our town, that they had to institute rules for it.

Fran, it appears that your town leadership are in sync with its constituency.  Thank you for your post

When I door knock I feel great because I know most of my competition is not willing to be out there with me.  To be successful we have to be willing to do the things that others won't.  I'm joining you.  Thanks.

Good afternoon. At my lemonade stand I used to give the first glass away free and charge five dollars for the second glass. The refill contained the antidote. I am from Iceland and know bad English, give true I wrote the following sentence: "Battery operated version of the spartus cat clock." Best regards :), Amana.

Could you help me. Never does the human soul appear so strong and noble as when it foregoes revenge and dares to forgive an injury. I am from Rwanda and too poorly know English, please tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "The allergies of the inhalation were deposited on the pili which was until it ripped the ear into which it was improved." With love :-(, Bithron.

Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, New Mexico are among the most stable real estate markets in the United States. This has caught the attention of the national media. As such, it is incumbent on local Realtors to provide information about our cities for those interested in investing, relocating, or visiting. My goal with this blog is to highlight issues or topics in real estate, and where appropriate apply them to the local markets.
