New is Good

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with NextHome Experience 17050

I like to have new in my life.

Even if it doesn't seem good at the time, new is what keeps life interesting and prevents it from becoming stale

As a Realtor I am fortunate to have a career which allows me to meet new people who welcome me into their lives, even if only for a brief time.

I'm thrilled to have been introduced to several new home buyers this week. First, a nice young couple looking for their first home and then, a single woman looking for a retirement property.

Opposite ends of life from each other, the common denominator being I now know them both and get to share their new experience with them.

By the way, Carson likes "new" too. He loves the toy he got yesterday...look closely, I think you'll see he's smiling.

Lisa, if you mean by leaving white hair all over my hardwoods, blowing his stinky old man breath in my face and making me hot by insisting he lay right next to me, then yes, he's said "Thank you"

:-)

Colleen, Madison Ave knows the effect that the word "new" has on people buying things. Everyone likes new. It reflects untainted, and a fresh approach. New people are highly invigorating to our lives, if as you said, some only stay with us for a short time. We learn and grow from them. We live in the moment. And yes, Carson is definitely smiling. I think he's also saying thank you for the "new" toy.

You're absolutely right,  I like new also.  I love to meet new people, share new experiences, take a new way to the coffee shop, try a new flavor coffee etc.

Gary,  "highly invigorating"...that sums it up perfectly!

Judy, on the other hand, my husband hates anything new. Change of any kind. Are we just wired differently?

Colleen - I'm glad two buyers were lucky to find you... Carson looks so happy with his "hot pink" toy.

Debbie, my sons were mortified. They said he looks like a girl w/ a bright pink toy. I don't think he gives a rip personally LOL!

Russ, he's a fat boy. 120 lbs...he gets very little of that "new stuff" in his life. Poor guy!!

Colleen, new is good. It is nice meeting the new people as you mentioned. I just met a new couple today that I am helping get in a home. If you want new this market should have you really excited. :)

Colleen - New does keep life interesting and there's always something new in our real estate days.  Today I received a new offer and am looking forward to opening a new escrow!  Good luck with your new clients too!

New is good... especially where buyers and sellers are concerned.  Carson looks pretty happy, even if you gave him a pink chew toy.  Btw, Carson is a handsome boy but 120 lbs?  What the heck are you feeding that fellow?

Btw, this is for you.

I agree.  It helps our businesses to have new client resources.

I've market exclusively to new buyers since the 1980s.  My past clients contact me when they need me.  However, generating business from new sources is exciting and helps us grow our business.

I'm meeting with a new buyer in a couple of hours who I met at an Open House last week.  It's unusual for me to work with a new buyer who didn't come from my referral base - I have my SOI very, very well trained!

You are like a breath of fresh air.  (I have been reading some of those down and deep posts.)

It is fun to meet new people, even briefly - little mini-friendships.

Hi Colleen, \

Great pic.  One of the things I love about Real Estate is you get to meet and make friends with all kinds of people.

Happy Summer!

Put 40 years of experience to work for you

When I hear agents complaining about the lack of business, it's disheartening -- because every day is new. Every.Single.Day. What didn't happen yesterday can happen today. That's what's so great about real estate. New people. New business. New experiences. I hear agents grumble, "Oh, that's just a crummy sign call." And I think to myself, "No, that's a buyer who needs your help!" If you don't enjoy meeting new people, then real estate isn't the profession for you. I like the way you think, Colleen. :)

I love new, I love change. Of course there are times when I just want the same old, same old as well. I find that the men in my life are more resistant to change - maybe we are wired differently in that regard. But meeting new clients is always fun!
