Regional Marketing Center vs. Real Estate Office?

By
Real Estate Agent with Lattimer Realty
For those of you who read my last post, my office is now called Prudential New Jersey Properties West Essex Regional Marketing Center. When I first heard "Marketing Center"...I thought..ugh, we sound like the town printing company not a real estate office. Then I attended North Central Jersey Association of Realtors (NCJAR) Symposium and James Pugliese was one of the guest speakers ("Mega-Agent 2008: Secrets of the Pro's") and one of his "secrets" was--to develop marketing centers, not real estate offices. I'm thinking my broker must've got wind of Jim's secret before the merge! LOL! This was the first time I heard one of Jim's seminars and I'm glad that I did. If you have the opportunity to attend one of his seminars and/or trainings program, don't miss it.

Very interesting Gina. I've never heard of this concept, but I think I like it. Do you have any additional information or links about a "marketing center"?

I don't have any actual links but I do incorporate and base my listing presentation on the key of marketing, not selling.  The seller is not hiring me to sell their home, my job is to market their home and get it sold...there is a difference and I've actually seen the faces of sellers think about it for a minute and then agree with me.  In all reality, I don't have have to be the selling agent - if its sold - I've done my job that I was hired to do as the listing/marketing agent.   (I've always used that concept even before my office became a "marketing center").
