YouTube Thursdays - The Fine Line Between Sappy and Warmly Happy
We both are sentimental people, however treacle turns us off. If we’re going to have our emotions played, it better be done very well.
Throughout the holiday season, YouTube Thursdays is featuring uplifting videos that evoke emotions. This week, the focus is on connections - relationships and togetherness.
This first video could have been a bit sappy had it not been for the injection of a bit of humor - kids do often roll their eyes at the silly antics of well-meaning dads (and moms). We've both done a version of this for our own children, therefore, it's quite relatable.
We both appreciate the message in this one. “If there was ever a Christmas to look out for one another, this is the one.” One simple gesture of kindness from one neighbor to another - priceless, especially when done on the sly.
This final ad from Xfinity features Steve Carrell cast as Santa. And, like most of us, Santa knows the usual gifts just aren’t going to cut it in this most unusual year.
We hope you enjoyed these as much as we did. A reminder and a word of warning, sentimental videos can be very impactful, but the line between sappy and warmly happy is a fine one. Proceed with caution and authenticity.
