My Question - If it is this simple why can't our auto makers convert? They would make a fortune and still honor the warranty.

I've been hearing about this on one of our local radio stations that I listen to on Saturdays when I'm in and out. I thought I would check out  this information to make sure I was hearing correctly. Obvarious you hear lots of things these days with the price of fuel so high. This is a website that I found that helped me better understand what they were talking about.

Now, I wouldn't run out and try this unless you do allot of research and investigation. I would think this would no longer secure your auto warranty.

I did want to add a note to this. I in no way support eveything we hear or read in reference to alternatives. My question to this is why can't our auto makers come up with an alternative that would be an approved alternative. I wanted to get your thoughts on some of these things we are finding on the internet, hear on the radio or read in the newspaper. I would in no way try anything that would hinder my warranty if your approved by the auto maker.

26 Comments on Run Your Car On Water?

Does anyone on here have this already and does it work?

06/21/2008 08:25 AM by Chuck Carstensen (Re/max Associates Plus/The Discovery Coach)

God morning Carl and Ceil- It would be great if we could run our cars on water and not gasoline. Think of the money we could save.

06/21/2008 08:31 AM by Solaris Realty

Chuck - I'm sure hoping we will get some reasonable response on this blog. Be sure to check back and maybe we will get some good response.

I hope someone will comment here on experiences with this sort of thing.  I find it hard to believe, but I sure want to believe it!  Thanks! Steve

My Hummer just refuses to drink  water. ..I think he is got a problem!

06/21/2008 08:39 AM by Fernando Herboso Real Estate Maryland, DC and Virginia (Choice Real Estate )

I think you're all wet.  What a hoax!  I guess we buy oil from our enemies because the white house doesn't get AR.

06/21/2008 08:59 AM by Rebecca @ Schrader Inc. - Mobile Home Financing Specialists

Steve - I think we need an array of alternatives to supply our demand. As more and more people come into our country, the greater the need.

Fernando - A Hummer? Within one hour yesterday afternoon we saw four hummer's pulling boats to come to the lake for boating. Lots of money tied up in the Hummer and boat. Sure hope the Hummer doesn't accidentially roll into the lake when loading the boat, the Hummer may drown.

Rebecca - There are allot of hoax's out there. If this could come to pass it would be good if the auto maker's could convert and install the kits. They would not be able to handle the demand. The warranty is the big thing with me.

Does this really work????  I would need to see proof before I committed...

06/21/2008 09:56 AM by Clint Miller - www.recr.com (Real Estate Client Referrals LLC)

Clint - I would definitely look into thoroughly before I tried. Again, the warranty thing. I wish we would hear comments from some that may have tried. Whew! If it did come to pass we may have a shortage of H20.

06/21/2008 10:04 AM by Carl & Ceil Winters (Complete Inspection Service, New Braunfels, Texas 78133)

Well, I have to say that I am always very skeptical of this sort of thing... I'm always inclined to believe that if it was truly viable we would hear about GM, Ford or Toyota's experiments with this, not some guy in his garage with a 1994 Ford Escort.

If you were to use this system I wonder if the car would run better on Evian water than it would on regulat tap water?

06/21/2008 11:53 AM by Steve Shatsky - Dallas Real Estate & Short Sale Specialist (Keller Williams-Dallas City Center)

Hey Steve - Have you looked recently to see what a gallon of Evian water would cost? Even our tap water is being given so much per household over in our area. If you go over they charge you big time.

If someone could perfect this it should be GM or Ford. I heard yesterday where Toyota is going to start layoff's in the truck plant over in San Antonio.

Howdy Carl and Ceil

I want the both of ya, to know I also appreciate your friendship also.

I have heard this is being experiment with in China. I don't think that GM and Ford would really want this to happen. They own alot of stock in oil. They have also been known to buy up patent's for invention's in the past, that would help folk's on geting better gas mileage. They would just let the patent's get dusty in the patent's office so the invention would not make it to the market.

God Bless The U.S.A.

Dale - From what it looks like on the stock market GM & Ford need to do some adjustments if they want to remain in business. People won't have any money to buy a new automobile if this gas situation continues. Both are loosing money and marketshare...not good.

Carl, that would be a great answer to high gas prices. Although if we break down the price of bottled water we may be ahead buying gas yet, grin.

06/22/2008 04:01 PM by * Rate A Home (Rate A Home)

Duane - It would be great but like using all the corn for Ethonol now causing shortages ... and higher prices at the grocery store.  We would  use all the water and have water  shortages. We would have no water to drink or water tto water the crops, or water to water our lawns, or water to take a bath.

We just can't win my friend.

06/22/2008 04:45 PM by Carl & Ceil Winters (Complete Inspection Service, New Braunfels, Texas 78133)

Carl, so true. But with AR, I guess it wouldn't matter if the person on the other end passed on a bath so they could drive. LOL. Unless of course they were coming to meet you or I....

There were lots of these "systems" around during the first energy crisis in the early 70's (yeah I'm that old.)  And lots of people who wasted money on them.

Save your money, while it is true that hydrogen can be produced from electrolosis, not at rates that would provide enough fuel from your battery.  It takes energy to break down the atoms into hydrogen and oxygen, likely more energy to produce than the process will yield.  There is no free lunch, this is NOT atomic fusion.

Can we run our car with water and gas? Can anybody tell me is the HHO Gas is real working or is another scam?

07/18/2008 01:46 AM by johnandrews52

People are looking for anything to save on fuel. Guess there are allot of scams out there going around. Somebody needs to come up with something soon or we will all go down the drink because of high fuel.

07/18/2008 08:30 AM by Carl & Ceil Winters (Complete Inspection Service, New Braunfels, Texas 78133)

These things are a hoax.

Water and current causes 2(H2O) => 2(H2) + O2 (gas), which after an oxidizing reaction does not expand, it contracts back to 2(H2O) which is much much much smaller in liquid form than gas.

You can really reduce your compression by doing this and get plenty of condensed water into the engine - which is GREAT for the inside of your engine. (sarcasm if you didn't get it.)

It also creates heat which is something you try NOT to make. Heat is a byproduct of the oxidizing reaction that creates expanding gas in normal gasoline combustion and is wasted energy that you try to REMOVE from the engine with the radiator, not add extra to.

Additionally, it runs more current from the battery/alternator to do the H2O division, which does remove more kinetic energy from the running process of the engine as the energy has to come from somewhere.

Don't take my word for it though, ask your local college chemistry professor. (Or maybe even high-school. lol) And ask a mechanic if it is good to reduce your compression and extra get water in the engine. Or an electrical engineer if you can run a generator without causing extra drag on an engine.

JB - Thanks for your very good input. Myself and many others certainly hope the automobile makers can come up with alternative that works. I think many people are also doing regular maintenance like checking tire pressure, which can help on mileage. You hear so many things on a daily basis you just have to decide for your self what can be viable and wha is not.

Please come back again with additional input. Discussions are good. I would not want to  use anything in my diesel pick up that would hinder my warranty.

07/19/2008 09:33 AM by Carl & Ceil Winters (Complete Inspection Service, New Braunfels, Texas 78133)

Sorry Carl & Ceil, it is not just that you need to "decide for yourself what can be viable," Reality has a say in these things too. This is a perpetual motion machine hoax like so many before it. It takes more energy to separate the HHO than you will get from converting it back to water. But if you want to buy some beach front property in FL. I can hook you up...

Michael - Seems everyday we read and hear about some new something or other. We see what has happened with some alternatives that have already been introduced, not cost effective and have run the cost up for items that we need for everyday use. I think allot of people are playing a very dangerous game with the survival of our country. We need to have a number of alternatives and not just depend on one main source.

07/26/2008 01:52 PM by Carl & Ceil Winters (Complete Inspection Service, New Braunfels, Texas 78133)

This scam just makes me angry and frustrated. Proposing this and other snake oil deals as alternative fixes to the energy issue that we all must face with calm intelligence if we are going to work out real usable answers, undermines peoples belief in all energy efficiency developments. THIS IS NOT NEW, THIS IS NOT COST EFFECTIVE, THIS DOES INDEED RUN THE COST OF REAL DEVELOPMENTS UP, THIS IS NOT AN ALTERNATIVE, THIS IS A SCAM!

I'm certainly not saying we should stay on the petrochemical track, but jumping on ideas that fly in the face of very basic physics in an unrealistic hope, and makes us prey for vultures and scam artists.

Howdy Carl and Ceil

Carl - I just got a E-Mail sent to me Run your car with water. I have not open it yet.

Just wanted to let ya know.

Thanks!

Carl & Ceil Winters, I totally agree, tire pressure, and a well maintained vehicle can make a huge difference in fuel economy.

And on the petrochemical track I also agree, wholeheartedly, Michael. I really hate gasoline, it is a horrible thing to constantly do to the environment. We could really use some sort of alternate power source, and unfortunately right now it seems we are stuck with gasoline.

I think in the future, we will have ways of generating electrical energy that are efficient enough that the waste of HHO conversion should be less of a problem.

I am really impressed with some of the fuel cells that use water as a electrical storage medium rather than a combustable energy source. Some of the power cells are becoming extremely efficient for retrieving the stored electrical energy from the hydrogen + oxygen reaction.

Of course the drawback of those systems is the difficulty and cost to make them. :(

Also unfortunately, it all comes down to money. I am guessing selling these things draws some sort of revenue? Preying on people is not right, just as bad as spreading untruth.
