I am so excited for the new year and for many reasons. Once the Christmas decorations come down, my home feels like a blank slate. And as a home decor nut, this is one of my favorite times of the year.
And it's about this time of year that I start getting some ideas for our home. Our home needs a few cosmetic updates. New counters are on the agenda for the new year.
And while I love a good DIY project, this one will be done by the professionals. But the big question is....do I update my fireplace too while the professionals are here??
Last year, I gave our fireplace a little (and much needed) makeover. I always assumed it was a temporary fix until we had the time for something more permanent. But after living with it for one year, I will have to say this temporary solution is holding up so well.

I know we likely will move from this house once our kids are grown so everything I do to our home I have resale on my mind too.
I can't wait for the new year and for new counters...and maybe a new fireplace. Here's hoping I can make a decision!
