I do it.

You probably do it too.

When I'm shopping online for a product or service, I'll read the reviews.

An absence of reviews typically doesn't bode well, nor does a bundle of reviews with a heavily negative slant.

I tend to sample reviews of both the highest and lowest scores.  Sometimes it's obvious someone is a paid shill with a 5 star review, and on the other hand some of the low reviews, well it can be pretty obvious the problem is with the customer and not the product or service.

And I know I've had clients tell me they've picked us to help with their real estate needs because of reviews they've read.

Now obviously, Mission 1 is just getting found at all.  If they can't find you to start with, your reviews are irrelevant.

Your blog posts can help establish your presence.

Google My Business definitely helps you get found, especially with so many mobile "find ____________ near me" type searches.

You know people use home search portals too, so say what you will about Z, but consumers are going there despite what you as an agent think about Z's master plan to take over the world!

And of course there are other places to find reviews.  Angie's List, Yelp, etc.

There are services that will solicit and spread news of your reviews if you don't mind parting with some $$ to get the job done.

Me personally, I prefer to send out requests for Z and Google, and if I don't space out to much and get busy elsewhere, copy them to our Wordpress site (yeah, I MIGHT be a bit behind on the last).

My observation is this:

MOST clients are more than happy to take a few minutes to help you out after you've just finished spending months (or years) taking care of them.

Other clients, it was strictly transactional.  They had a job that needed done, you did it, you got paid, and for them, it's a wrap.

And for others, it's just a matter of being busy and they MEAN to get to it, but just don't, at least not initially.  They've just moved and have a To Do list a 1000 line items long, so sometimes a gentle request months later just might get an extra review tallied up for you.

And with that, I've got a few review requests to make.  I closed a small parcel of land today that literally took years from list to closing (it's a long story with a few twists and turns I won't be covering today).  I suspect if I calculated my hourly rate I went WAY below minimum wage, but what I do have is some big fans that will add to my compensation with some great reviews that will help me with future business.

All I have to do is ask for that review.

Until next Tuesday, just Ask An Ambassador if you need help,
