Grilled Cheese & Apple Sandwiches + Midas Touch

Chef Dolores served grilled cheese and apple sandwiches for our lunch at home. The beverage selection was Midas Touch Ancient Ale from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton, DE. An outstanding combination.

Midas Touch is one of our favorite ales for the holiday season. You should give it a try. Drink responsibly 9 % Alc. by Vol.

 

This sweet yet dry beer is made with ingredients found in 2,700-year-old drinking vessels from the tomb of King Midas. Somewhere between beer, wine and mead, Midas will please the chardonnay and beer drinker alike.

For years, Dogfish Head has worked with biomolecular archaeologist Dr. Patrick McGovern to bring Ancient Ales to life.

Hmm, I have never tried putting apple on a grilled cheese sandwich, but if chef Dolores is doing it, it must be good.

Hello Roy - I can't recall the exact combination but over the years I have accompanied a grilled cheese sandwich with apple slices.  I have bookmarked so I can investigate this recipe because I assume it's going to involve a bit more than that combination as I have described.  🙃

Roy Kelley - Grilled Cheese with Apple sandwiches sounds intriguing! I'll have to give it a try. Last night I made a Grilled Cheese with Avocado and a small amount of red onions. It was delicious!
