Sloppy Seconds. . .

Sloppy Seconds

Or Something Like That. . .

I typically avoid hyperbole but there are times when opportunity presents it as a viable alternative.

Waiting and pausing, even a few seconds, can help

eliminate embarrassment along with other fates that

most fear or should likely fear.

Words, like deeds, behavior and thoughts are important among an always growing list of things that offer substance, significance and at times, seriousness.

“Haste makes waste” may be a snappy response to one of the often-hilarious(and somewhat scary) images shared by our AR friend from Texas Richard Weeks over the years.  The visual stories he tells  of another contractor project “gone wrong” with his shared photos in the Q&A section of this site are funny in the moment but often a clue tells us there's more to the story.

Time definitely has a role as the hours, minutes and seconds “tick off”.  And don’t forget those moments.

Most of us know from experience that moments continue to matter.

Take this post for example. It was nothing more than an idea. I started - mostly a bunch of ideas - it remained unfinished in “draft” status. I thought it might become a post - maybe on January 2(you know, the second).

Well, some of the stuff that has been happening recently(or is it again???) on ActiveRain and in real life made me look at some ideas/thoughts I put forth in Google Docs and in other random places where thoughts and ponderings are stored.

Sometimes, leftovers like seconds that are sloppy can be quite satisfying.

Reheat.   Rinse.  Repeat.  Or something like that.

John Pusa - thank you.

Chris Ann Cleland  - I admit to being a regular visitor of the AR archives.  It doesn't always have the desired effect and has sent me down a rabbit hole more than once.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS  - sometimes I know in advance where an idea may lead but there are times when the mind wanders/wonders as do my fingers on my computer keyboard.

Michael, reading your post made me think about sloppy joes.   Haven't made those in years, and maybe today is the day.   Nice to see you back in the Q & A and on comments, now for posting?

Yes, Michael Jacobs that is how Crap-Tacular stories occur. Reminds me of the expression "I don't give a crap."

Mr. Crappy gives 2 craps ... and I will raise you 1 crap!

Endre Barath, Jr. - evil, huh?

Joan Cox - writing and then publishing this post proved to be quite time-consuming as has answering questions and commenting so my time(and frustration) with this site will likely continue to be limited.

Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist - there is no shortage of 💩 here and in the real world.  I appreciate the highlight within CrapTacularr.  Dorie Dillard CRS GRI ABR - you're right about experiencing the joys of a second helping.  Even days later.

Debe Maxwell, CRS - thank you for the kind words.  I appreciate them and your math ability in converting time into seconds.

Good to see you again Michael Jacobs!

Thanks again, for a thought provoking post. Sloppy? Utilizing the pause button in your mind... All very interesting. It's all about perspective, like 2020 and these days in January - we're on this roller coaster ride of life hanging on for dear life. May you be safe always. And I wish you the very best of health.

Good morning Michael Jacobs - I have missed you ponderings.  I too ponder what is would if I had not put my cup of soup down near my laptop.  It was fried.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP - as if 2020 wasn't a big enough lesson in the study of perspective, everyday life and all of those other outside influences continue to reinforce it so far this year.  I am sure it will be a recurring trip on some level.  That's why history plays a part too along with perspective.

Hopefully, the lessons/experiences/memories will "sink in" but in the meantime - enjoy the trip which may be akin to a ticket on Mr Toad's Wild Ride at Disneyland.

Grant Schneider - food/drink and computer equipment/such are not good combinations, are they?

Michael Jacobs - I have been having very strange and vivid dreams. I'm sure my unconscious is on overdrive because it keeps taking me to places to hang out with people no longer alive. It's very, very eerie. The other day I had a dream I was in Boston with a little boy I knew who died a long time ago from cancer when he was somewhere between 6 - 8 years old. But in the dream, he was walking with me and talking like an adult with a very extensive vocabulary. I have no memory of where we were going or what the conversation was all about but at least it wasn't scary.

I LOVE leftovers. My favorite meal...not having to cook from scratch....just pop in microwave and done. LOL

Haven't had a sloppy joe in years. I think if I were going to make it I would prefer to add pasta and have American Chop Suey instead though.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP - reading your comment makes me think this could be a pitch meeting at a movie production studio for Benjamin Button, Two.  Who will be the star?

Roy Kelley - here's hoping your week is going well.

Sharon Tara - sounds like a plan and an entirely new take on leftover preparation/presentation and perhaps some photoshop possibilities.

Michael, sloppy seconds also makes me think of chasing expired listings.   I want to be the FIRST (and last) listing agent.  There is always a reason it did not sell.

Joan Cox - over the years, I can recall many seminars talking about(and selling) ways to work with expired listings and be quite successful.  That avenue was not "right" for me but I do know that there can be many ways to achieve success in real estate.
