The video clip "I am not a lead" changed the way I do business with my prospects and customers.
For those who haven't seen it, here is a link to this eye-opening video http://www.1000wattblog.com/2008/01/i-am-not-a-lead.html
How do you combine high tech with personalized touches?
My database includes action plans but some of the items are very open-ended. For a prospect, it may merely say "touch me". And, based on what I know about that customer it may be a text message, e-mail or voice mail. I may even drop by their home or office. For a customer in the middle of a transaction I may drop documents off at the house rather than e-mailing them because I know they have printer issues.
I am respectful that the customer is not just a customer, but a person with preferences and a need, that if I can help fulfill it, will get me to the next step. That next step may be a paycheck, or it may be a referral, but the best path to get there is by focusing on the individual customer's needs.

I think it's just incredible how much we all are learning about our respective markets and about our processes to achieve quality results with customers. Vickie's process has made her a better realtor - and more equipped to manage her systems. As she says, we endeavor to treat people as individuals. However, the business requires that we have 'scale' and the only way we know how to do that is to create methods and standards which we can count on. Congratulations to all the participants for a real learning experience during week 5!
