OMW I attended my first AR Zoom meeting/ call, in hopes of seeing how extra points work and how zoom in particular works. But soon was amazed at John DL Arendsen presentation although it was VERY INTERESTING at times LOL but I was glad I attended. I think there were 45 or so people in attendence which is the most I have seem in any Zoom meeting I have attended at the clubs and organzations I belong to.
I really enjoyed seeing what members are really like in some sort of personal way and found them to be very friendly, courtesous and welcoming.
I have been an active rain member since 2006 I believe and have gotten business from A/R although I think it was by default LOL. I am by no means a blogger although I think it is interesting. I am more of a behind the scene GET R DONE kind of guy anyway just a little about me.
I am or was into Little Tiny Houses for a couple of years so I was suprised when John explained ADU's and the process although they are not totaly the same they are close in my mind. So John had some very good information, so much so I researched the ADU's afterwards and was suprised that one of my favorite tv shows had one in almost every episode. I wasn't suprised to find that California is real strict and maybe rightfully so but here in the panhandle of Florida we are not so much and alot of older homes here have an ADU of sorts albeit not as fancy as the ones John discussed. I am very interested in hearing more details on the process of building ADU's from start to finish. Seems they could be used to suppliment a homeowners income and that could be a huge asset to homeowners here as we are a college town and military town which means and ADU would rent quick. Looking at pictures on his site I can see a unique way of building these to fit anywhere on any size lot as well.
John was spot on with details and his Q&A session was very interesting and many good questions were asked. I enjoyed the comradre of everyone waving their hands and trying get his attention I was wondering if he had muted us out. John seemed to be knowledgable in the area of financing and the codes etc. To his point he could handle everything from start to finish although with septic systems it could be a challenge I think.
It seems that maybe this is a family affair as John has other family members involved it the pre building off site and I think one of them even builds homes.
Zoom will be around for awhile so that was the reason I checked the meeting out and wanted to learn more about Zoom and the inter workings. We use Zoom for our Rotary, Chamber and Association meetings but that is about my total experience with Zoom.
