pngFriday was a very busy day for me. I had tried to attend the Annual Pet Parade last year and work got in the way...and I almost had to bypass it this year as well. But I was able to work out a very short and fashionably late attendance and was glad I did. The parade begins on Route 9 and extends down Main Street. Animal rescue and, pet products, and anything to do with pets in general was out in force.

There were “Pooch Games” sponsored by Bark & Meow. Greyhound rescue was out in force with dogs that are up for adoption. Best Friends (Doggie Day Care) made their presence known by having a street booth. I was only able to stay a short while and take a few pictures (not my best while holding Jade and Tundra on leashes.) Third Friday’s are fun for everyone - with specials all along the route on Route 9 to Main Street. Third Friday’s get started at 5 PM and last until 9 PM – every third Friday of the month.

Thanks Laura - I didn't want to miss it again. I think its great localism for those who care about their pets.

Hi Gary -The dogs are great - few people bring cats to such events - though it was for pets in general. Did you see the link to your site on my FSBO post?

Ruthmarie - looks like lots of fun.  It's hard to get a cat on a leash - then picture a cat on a leash surrounded by dogs, sheesh!

That's funny Penny!  I tend to be a dog person.  Some pet -lovers have argued that I am prejudiced against cats! But the fact is that most of my pics are from real life and since I don't own cats (allergies) there aren't that many felines  hanging around to photograph. The one picture I had, but it turned out terrbily was of a cat who was in a shop window.  I've seen it before.  Apparently, instead of a guard dog, they have a guard cat!  It was freaking out with all the dogs around! The look on its face was hilarious.  I suppose I could "borrow" some of my friend's cats. I just haven't asked. I don't know if they want their cats in the limelight!
