Wordless Wednesday...Full-Service Establishment

There are so many different birds in our backyard this time of year...some we only see in the winter. Larry and I do our best to have on hand all of the different seeds, nuts, fruit, and worms that each bird likes to eat.

The past few days have been hard on our wildlife with cold temperatures, cloudy skies, wind, and rain. This morning after a night with temperatures hovering below freezing, he had to break up the ice that covered the birdbath and water dish on the feeding pole.

We love seeing all of the different birds when they come out to dine with us...there are wrens, pine warblers, chickadees, bluebirds, cardinals, tufted titmouse, finches, and many more.

Want to find joy?   All I need to do is look outside in our backyard!!!

Our feeders were once overrun with birds at one time, but with a couple of hawks in the neighborhood the birds are very careful

Nina Hollander we get so much fun out of seeing them in the yard.

Brian England We actually have a few more robins this year. Last year we couldn't get them to our backyard.

Wayne Martin the bluebirds had 3 broods last year so we're hoping for that this year.

Kat Palmiotti I did something similar yesterday when I took more food out to the birds. I stopped and could hear the birds in our large oak tree making all kinds of sounds. Music to my ears.

Rocky Dickerson I have two I call Fric and Frac. They are so cute.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel that sounds good to me now. We'll be back in the mid to upper 60's soon. We noticed a blue bird nest in our box which seems a bit early. I told Larry he needs to find something to keep the box warm if they do lay eggs.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® I'd almost forgotten about that!  I'm going to look into it.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD I'm glad that Sheri reminded me about how we can keep our hummingbird feeder from freezing. We both get so much joy from the wildlife...it's all worth it.

Hi Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS for Austin and areas just north of us to get snow is rare.  I'm hoping for warmer weather this week. What area of Houston are they in?

George Souto we enjoy it! I'm not sure what we'd do without our wildlife.
