The Town of Wake Forest has been discussing public transporation for a very long time! YEAY, it would appear that it has finally materialized.
There will be two weekday bus routes that will serve Wake Forest. One bus route will be an express route between Wake Forest, Triangle Town Center and downtown Raleigh. The Wake Forest-Raleigh Express will operate M-F 5:00am-8:00pm excluding some holidays. The fare is $2.50 per one-way trip during peak periods (5-9am, 4-8pm), $2.00 per one-way trip during the mid-day (9am-4pm). FOr a map of the Wake Forest-Raleigh Express please click here.
The second route offered is the Wake Forest Loop. As its name indicates this route will make a continual loop around the Wake Forest area stopping at various points of interest such as the Wakefield Plantation area, White Street and Elm Street (downtown Wake Forest) and the Lowe's shopping plaza in the North quandrant. There are additional stops along the way providing convenience for riders throughout the day.
The Wake Forest Loop will operate M-F 5:30am-7:30pm excluding some holidays and fare? Well, you can't beat FREE! An introductory fare-free period will be offered at least through January 1, 2009!
