Are You a SINGLE AGENT of God?

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Premier Group BK3160709

Recently, I read the duties of a Florida REALTOR(r) when they act as a SINGLE AGENT. It reminds me of how my relationship with God should be. So I asked myself, "Are you a single agent of God?"

These are the duties of a single agent according to the FAR Brokerage Relationship Notice:

SINGLE AGENT NOTICE

FLORIDA LAW REQUIRES THAT REAL ESTATE LICENSEES OPERATING AS SINGLE AGENTS DISCLOSE TO BUYERS AND SELLERS THEIR DUTIES. As a single agent,___________________and its associates owe to you the following duties:

  1. Dealing honestly and fairly;
  2. Loyalty;
  3. Confidentiality;
  4. Obedience;
  5. Full disclosure;
  6. Accounting for all funds;
  7. Skill, care and diligence in the transaction;
  8. Presenting all offers and counteroffers in a timely manner, unless a party has previously directed the licensee otherwise and in writing; and
  9. Disclosing all known facts that materially affect the value of residential real property and are not readily observable.

THE SINGLE AGENT OF GOD

 As a single agent, __________:

In our real estate covenants, we place the name of our brokerage in this space, but in our realtionship with God, the brokerage would equate to "the church". While it is important for us to perform the duties of a Single Agent of God corporately (as a church body) it is even more important that we perform these duties as individuals. By making your covenant with Jesus, you have assured that your name will be written in heaven, in the Lamb's Book of Life just as we write our name on The Single Agent Notice.

1.) Dealing honestly and fairly; If we are honest, He is fair.

If we confess our sins (honestly), He is faithful and just (fairly) to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

2.) Loyalty;

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24 (NKJV)

Do you serve God or mammon?

3.) Confidentiality;

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6:6

If we pray in in our prayer closets (confidentiality) (in the secret place of The Most High), we will be rewarded openly.

4.) Obedience;

...Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22

Listen to God and obey. Listening may be the most important part of obeying.

5.) Full Disclosure;

Paul mentioned that he had persecuted Christians prior to his conversion and then said this:

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen...

Does the way we live our lives disclose to others that we are Christians?

6.)Accounting for all funds;

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:20

In a word: Stewardship. We should give glory to God with our Time, Treasure, and Talent.

7.)Skill, care and diligence in the transaction;

Evangelism: "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. " Mark 16:15-16

  • Skill: We should be prepared to skillfully present the Gospel. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear... 1 Peter 3:15
  • Care: We should care enough to share the Gospel because it is God's will. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4
  • Diligence: We should be diligent in all aspects of our faith, especially evangelism. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

8.)Presenting all offers and counteroffers in a timely manner, unless a party has previously directed the licensee otherwise and in writing; and

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 2 Peter 3:9-10

Present(ing) the Gospel in a timely manner because the day of Lord will come as a thief in the night! Time is of the Essence!

9.)Disclosing all known facts that materially affect the value of residential real property and are not readily observable.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Matthew 16:25-26

Are we earnestly seeking God's will or do we value fleshly (material) gain over spiritual gain?

WOW! I can't believe you made it this far! My attention span is way too short to read a post this long. Thanks for reading and I hope the Holy Spirit moves you. By the way, have you asked yourself lately,

"Am I a 'Single Agent' of God?"

God Bless,

Israel- Good point. Jesus warned us about being religious. Thanks for commenting.

Hugh- Thank you and blessings to you, too.

Thank you, William. I'm sure I got more out of writing it than anyone will get out of reading it.
