Downsizing is not always so easy but there is help

The phone rings and there is a person on the line who is very worked up. They eventually slowed down so i could makeout what they were saying. They were distaught over the sale of thei Manchester NH area Home.

Were they listed with me? No. Ok, good. So, I then had to get to the bottom of this call. After listening to the seller I was in shock. A buyer showed up at their home shouting they needed to follow directions. That they needed to move soon. The seller, an older couple was at a loss. They had not even sold the house yet they said. Before their call to me, they did call their son who is out of state that called the police.

The police had come and gone. They were safe but had no clue what just happened. Their son told them to call me. I looked up their home in MLS. They had listed with a big out of town company. How and why? I headed over to talk in person. It was easier to communicate and get some real answers. I sold the sons home, so he asked me to help.

Sitting at the dining room table I learned they attended an open house for Over 55 home. The next thing they knew the girl had them sign here and here and their house was listed. Another sign here and here and they were under contract for a new over 55 home.

It was easier for I experienced this myself many times this year already with my own buyers. Does a home seller really need 50 offers to decide which one is best? Should they wait 1 week? How about 2 weeks to answer buyers?

THE MORAL OF THE STORY is that in the end, the most important thing in Real Estate for me is provide GREAT SERVICE. I want to stand out from the crowd. My philosophy is simple. To provide more personal and professional service to guide my clients through each step of the selling and buying process.

This is a strange story indeed.  I hope they fire their agent and hire you.

I have lived in my current home 38 years.  I have spent the last several days cleaning out my garage, and throwing a whole lot of stuff away.  Still, with the amount of stuff that remains, there is no way I'd be able to downsize!

Scott,

Strange behavior, shouting buyers, police on the scene.  Sellers should know you will sort it out in their best interests without the drama.

Wow, what a crazy story. It sounds like those people were taken advantage of which is terrible. I hope it all gets sorted out to the seller's benefit.

Scott,  As others have commented, this is strange. Beyond strange in my mind. Good heavens ... police-involved - yikes.

Hello Scott - not to sound like an echo but the word strange came to mind while reading this story and then it resurfaced in the comments.  And now, as I write my own comment.
