While we may still be in the thick of winter, it doesn't hurt to get planning for spring!
For many of us, the kids are off for spring break next month. What should we do?
It's still not especially easy to travel, so here are ten great options for at home fun with your family!
1. Plant Your Garden
Spring break is exactly the right time to start planting your seeds! If it's still too cold in your area, make it a time to plan and order what you need instead.
2. Make Your Own Birdfeeder
Then set it up and use binoculars to observe different species of birds that come to visit!
3. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Style
If your spring break takes place over the holiday like ours does, go a little wild for it! Break out the green sweatshirt, make green muffins, and do a little jig with your kids in the kitchen.

4. Eat Outside
If you haven't enjoyed the fresh weather yet, pick a sunny warm day and enjoy your food on the patio, deck, or with a picnic in the park.
5. Pull Out the Outside Toys
Dig through the garage (or order fresh) sidewalk chalk, paint, and bubbles to keep the kids entertained for hours out on their own driveway.
6. Spring Clean
Yeah, this one isn't as fun, but it's the best time to freshen up your house and open the windows to air it out. Once everyone has done their chores, celebrate with a reward!
7. Go On a Long Bike Ride
Or hike. Either way, take the family out for a long outing that gives everyone the exercise they need.
8. Start Prepping for a Garage Sale
If you did your spring cleaning from #6, take a day or two to begin organizing for a spring garage sale. Later, you'll pat yourself on the back for working ahead!
9. Get Away
It may not be possible to take a full vacation this year, but that doesn't mean you can't do a day trip somewhere. If nothing else take a drive and explore a new outdoor area or park!
10. Invest in a Staycation
And finally, spend a few days exploring your own area or relaxing. Get takeout. Watch movies in your pajamas all day. It's spring break after all! Even if it's just for a weekend when mom and dad are off work, it's worth it!
In Conclusion
There you have it! Lots of ideas to make the most of your spring break with the kids!
What will you do?
