Friday Photo: Japanese Cedar

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants DRE00893924

We were drawn to this Japanese cedar tree which would create a marvelous focal point.  Its botanical name is Cryptomeria Japonica "Sekkan-sugi.

It is easy to grow and does well in zones 4-24.  It is a conifer and an evergreen.  It likes full to partial sun!  They are normally found in the green version, and this beauty is a specimen.

Wishing Everyone a wonderful Friday evening, and a great weekend.

That is a very pretty color and most unusual leaves.  Would make a garden pop with  that red color

Hannah Williams When we lived in Napa, there was in nursery in nearby Sonoma (30 minutes away) that specialized in Japanese maples.  It was always an amazing adventure to go there.  So many varieties, it used to blow us away.  A

Nina Hollander I have been to nurseries that specialize in Japanese and other cedar trees.  At one time when Ron was studying Bonsai, he considered working on a cedar.  We wandered through one of our largest nurseries in the norther part of Los Angeles County, and came back empty handed.  I do love the cedars.  A
