Wordless Wednesday...Where the Deer and the Antelope Roam

People tend to think that Texas is all wide open plains with cowboys and cattle.  You want to hum Home on the Range.

Even though we’re not on the range, but live in the city, there are still deer around...if you keep your eyes open for them.  We saw this small family on our walk at Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve. They were actually across the creek from where we walk and believe it or not, very near some big box stores.

They have amazing eyesight, hearing, and smell, so when we see them, we stand still and are very quiet.

Are we lucky or what!!??

Kathy,

Deer abound everywhere.  I see them on our way to the wine country.  Last time we were in Utah, they parked themselves in the median of a 4 lane road.  What was funny is that the median had sculptures of deer.  A

Hi Kathy,
I live near the foothills and we often see deer wandering through the residential areas foraging for food.  They don't seem to be afraid of us.

Hi Kathy Streib - This is the second post I have seen today about deer.  Great video! I enjoy watching deer.  Our homes are designed on building envelopes to allow wildlife to roam through the property.  We get deer right in our backyard.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel good case of art meeting life!  We keep our eyes open on our walks and are delighted every time we get a chance to see them.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty I agree...I don't know when the last time you were in the Houston area, but these deer are feet away from a big box shopping center off of 249.

Morning Kathy.

They are abundant in my area.  I can be in the woods within five minutes after leaving my home.  We have the best of both worlds in my area.
