Making Your Old House Someone Else's New Home

Showhomes explains how a "home manager"

can help make that big sale for local home sellers

Nashville, TN June 23rd -- An empty house doesn't equal a "home". A home is filled with memories, pictures on the wall, the smell of cookies baking and mumbled voices. And when a potential buyer walks through the door, they need to be able to envision that house as their "home".

However, potential buyers are often faced with white and builder-beige walls that leave no room for the imagination; and empty floor space that makes it difficult to imagine the potential of the home.  This makes the home vulnerable to low-ball offers and studies show that vacant homes sell for as much as 15-20% less than nicely decorated and occupied homes.

According to Angela Blankinchip, franchise owner for Showhomes of Mobile, the company's "home managers" offer an innovative way of getting homes sold with maximum results in minimum time – homes staged using a live-in Home Manager have been beating market conditions this year by as much as 50%.

"When staging your home with a home manager, the home is well cared for, spotless and full of life; there is someone living in the home that can stage it and make it more appealing to potential buyers," <Last Name> said. "The ultimate benefit of selling an occupied home is that it's always attractive and comfortable, and furnished and welcoming to those who view it."

HomeGain, a California-based online service that generates real estate leads, surveyed some 2,000 real estate agents about the value of staging. The results showed that staging added $1,938 to $2,431 to the final sale price of houses. And, 91 percent of those agents thought professional staging was a good marketing tool in selling a home.

Showhomes’ own surveys of 1500 real estate agents at the National Association of Realtors convention showed that vacant homes would sell for at least 10% less than occupied homes and would take at least an addition 60 days longer to sell.

Showhomes, America's largest home staging company, has over two decades of staging experience and has helped over 25,000 home owners and realtors sell their high-end vacant homes valued at over $8 billion. The company's business model has proven to be effective in any market condition, especially in today’s slow market.

"Home managers really make a home feel 'at home', not cold, empty," said <Last Name>. "We don't only bring in furniture and adornments; we create a warm atmosphere where the potentials buyers can actually see themselves living in it. We stand by what we say – Showhomes turns vacant homes into valued homes."
