Great news from Providence Business News highlighting NAR statistics on existing home sales. Some great data to share with clients or to encourage prospective buyers to react. Remember the Time Magazine article that explained buyers waiting for a price break in a property can be negated by even a slight increase in interest rates.

Here is the positive article on existing home sales;

That is a great article although it says that the sales in the NorthEast are down. I don't really see that in my area, but maybe overall that's true.

Though just a forecast, I think another positive piece to take from the article is the projection that interest rates will remain stable through 2009. Historically, an election year has been favorable to the financial markets. Once we hit an equilibrium, I feel there will be increased activity in the housing market. Let's just hope our government cooperates....being a little more proactive rather than their traditional reactive nature.

Hey Jeff! Thanks for the comment - I'm looking forward to the day when the real estate market makes a major rebound and you and I can just hire drivers :).  Meanwhile, I hope you're getting excited for kickball... Seeya Thursday!
