My favorite home away from home

Time sure seems to be flying by as we are in the year 2021, wow where did time go?

And as time keeps flying by it brings me closer & closer to spending 4-5 months during spring, summer & fall in beautiful Alaska.

Still working in the Bay Area with all this Covid-19 crap and there has been many times when I just wanted to hang it up, retire and get away from the rat race. I am going to give it 1 maybe 2 years and I'm out of here and on my way to The Last Frontier. Sure I visit my properties in Alaska 4 weeks every year but it's just not enough time. About the time I really start relaxing and enjoying my home away from home I have to head back.

Here is a wonderful photo I took of a double rainbow at Tuner Lake where the road splits to Seward or Homer 80 miles south of Anchorage.

I understand the want to be away from the fear mongers and nonsense for sure.  It's exhausting.

Bob, pretty sure I was there a couple years ago when I took a vacation to go deep sea fishing.   What a beautiful photo!

That's a great capture and a great view but 12 months in Alaska would be a bit too harsh for me

Spectacular photo Bob. And, yes, I can totally emphasize - now more so than ever. We haven't been able to fly back to Europe for our annual visit last year and it's not looking very hopeful that this year will be a go. In that case, I will have to plan some trips in the US. Alaska sounds lovely! I am in dire need of a recharge.

That photo scene absolutely knocks my socks off, Bob.  As for retirement and getting back to Alaska.  Life is best in its simplest form.  You may find it is advantageous to retire a bit early, and enjoy life a little more!

Sounds like a good plan . I want to spend 12 months a year at the Beach ( eating fresh fish 3-4 times per week) . I’m on the same schedule as you !
