What do you see when you look at
the woman in the photographs above?Let's start with what is important to her - her daughter who is a talented musician; her long marriage to the love of her life, Lee of the daring red Corvette (which he bought on a dare and sold soon thereafter); then, in order, comes her personal car, the brown one she dreamed about for years, which was a surprise gift from Lee as she recounted in her post entitled Special Treatment. Margaret explored many avenues before her real estate career. Being good at whatever she does, she journeyed through nursing; creating art work from clay; writing a book; then on to her current stint as the innovative Broker/Owner of her own real estate company; joining and financially supporting ActiveRain (did you know that the very earliest members chipped in money when things got tight?); and continues spiritual support of the community with daily phone calls; A N D - added to that - in 2013, became a radio talk show personality.
Of course, we are speaking of Margaret Rome Baltimore 410-530-2400, the proud owner of her own real estate company - comfortably called HOME ROME!
On Sundays, at 12 Noon on WCBM 680 AM from Baltimore, MD, Margaret hosts her own live radio show called "All About Real Estate" - the link is for listening LIVE!
Margaret fields questions from people who call in to speak to her. Some weeks she has guests - members from ActiveRain, such as Kathy Streib. Sometimes past Clients call in and give her inspiration for Blog Posts - one being about Chimneys, for example.
Chosen to be the focus of a video about Open Houses, Margaret explains that her success is because she makes each Open House into an adventure and it becomes a magnet. Is the Client having a Yard Sale? Perfect time to hold an Open House also! Client selling a home that could be called a "difficult sell"? That Open House offered an ample and extravagant BBQ meal.
When Margaret plans to show a home, she puts up Open House signs along the route to the home. She always shows her Listings herself. Since she is headed to the home anyway, announcing an Open House means that another possible Buyer may show up!
With the opportunity in front of her since 2006 to have her own Blog posts on ActiveRain, Margaret became a devoted Blogger. EVERY DAY brings a new post from her on a subject of interest to all who follow her work stories by reading her posts. Sometimes short, sometimes humorous, sometimes instructional - all her posts echo with her kindness and sense of humor.
Perhaps one of the most special aspects of Margaret Rome's contributions to ActiveRain is her devotion to calling one or more members of the community EVERY DAY. Yes, capitaized, just as her daily blogging schedule was above. Both of those behaviors set examples for all of us on ActiveRain - be consistent with your Blog Posts and reach out to welcome or greet other community members. Too bad the February Challenge had not asked for an entire book about a special agent - one could easily write that much when profiling Margaret Rome!
