Feng Shui and The Law of Attraction

Many of us are so much more in tune with Energy then ever before.  No doubt that "The Secret" made a huge difference in many of our lives already and continue to do so.  Suddenly, we "got it."  There IS a ‘Law of Attraction' and many of the things we thought we had no control over, we actually DO.  What an uplifting and positive message and huge impact it made for many of us.

I got my "moments" of understanding while working at a Wholistic Center years ago.  Downtrodden people who were ill....and sent away by there doctors with a "timeline."  The major and most common principles of Wholistic Health relate to the Energy Fields in our bodies.  We think of Reiki, Amma Therapy (developed right here on Long Island, New York by Dr. and Mrs. Sohn, it's a powerful form of massage for healing Energy Points), Acupuncture, EFT and many other methods.

I watched the Practitioners heal a patient's spirit first; until your mind is cured, it would be difficult to believe in any hope.  They truly cared about their patients and it showed.  It wasn't a "traditional" 15 minute in-out appointment which you waited two hours for only to be told more "bad news."  It was messages of caring, HOPE and inspiration.

From that alone, patients started to feel better.  They had turned their thinking into a positive force and the next step in wholistic healing is releasing the negative energy that can get "stuck" in our bodies and stored there unknowingly.  And they healed, many of them.  Their spirits, their outlooks and their bodies.  It was a powerful lesson to actually SEE this and it was, in fact, the Law of Attraction at work.

The more "bad" news they had been given by doctors, the more sad and ill they became.  Healing starts with the mind---the Law of Attraction or INTENTION as the term Feng Shui Consultants use, is a powerful tool for fighting dis-ease.  It is not "just" for attracting money, cars and other things into your life, it is about healing first.

It is SO important with the Energy surrounding you, including your environment and the people.  Negative, down people can "suck" the energy right out of us....we come away tired and drained.  Keep the positives people around you---and limit the negative if you have to deal with them at all.  What was it Yoda said?  "May the FORCE be with you."  (Wise little guy!).

**Wholistic we spell with a "W" to keep the WHOLE body and mind encompassed in healing.

Carole - it is SO important to keep our mental frames of reference on track.  When we let ourselves be influenced by the negativity of the world we will become negative.  All we can do is be our own best source of positive thought, positive deeds and positive encouragement for others.

True so true. yesterday was one of those days when negative people and events seemed to gravitate to me and upon looking back I realize it was my thinking that was attracting them. Today I changed my thinking and put those negative people and events where they belonged, in the trash.

Carole, I've heard we need to block negative thoughts from entering our mind and don't allow our internal negative thoughts to germinate. I especially like how you have the wholistic with the w to reflect being whole. So many are prisoners of our minds. If we would just realize that we could be so much more free.

Hi Carole... You are so right, Positive feeling make us all feel better, great to hear many of those that need healing are seeing the benefit of positive surroundings and encouragement!

Have a great week!

Carole....All of what you say is true...but I wish it wwould come naturally to me. I am not a born optimist and practically have to repeat a positive mantra every day!

Hi Carole ... With any troubling circumstance, I know that I have to go through a process leading to acceptance before I can act.  I have to work it through in my own way ...face it, feel it and grapple with it.  But once I get there, my spirit rules and the healing energy flows!  It's just me.

Carole - Sometimes, if I'm feeling especially brave, I'll ask the person I'm speaking with if there is a particular reason they are being especially negative (if I know them well enough)...sometimes it's like a dam bursting and they can work through what ever it is then and find hope.  If not, I just can't be around them - the negative energy is too much.  Sometimes (but certainly not always!) friends can do that for friends...if they're brave enough :)

This is so true!  There were some people in my life that I had to tell not to talk to me about certain subjects because it was just bringing me down.  That has been a huge blessing in my life to just eliminate that negative and be able to focus on the uplifting things around me.

Hi Carole,
We are complicated beings and our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health are all connected.  When one is "sick" ,the others become infected too.  Negativity is a drain and I try to avoid it.

Carole,
The eastern forms of healing, which are very ancient, knew this and practiced this all along. Western society is slowly but surely starting to accept and understand these forms now. I enjoy learning about AYURVEDIC medicine which follows many of the principles you've spoken about and I believe we all have healing powers that we can use to help others.

My brother recently had a dream where he was given a message...the message was 'forgive, love, play'. We are here to love and to enjoy ourselves and far too many people forget that and get caught up in chasing earthly goods. In the process they forget to 'love' and they forget to 'play' and they end up very sick.

Thank you for this reminder with your thought-provoking post this morning...

Jo

Carol, You're so right...negative people and situations can actually make me physically ill.

Martha, Good for you, I'm glad to hear it.  I've had to step back from some people because they are always seeing the BAD and seem to enjoy living in a miserable state.

Gary, We can enjoy life so much more with positive people.  Not that you don't offer your friends an ear, I am only speaking of the ones that are always down.  I think I need to feel it and let it go...trying to block it can be so tiring :)

Fred, Your comments are infused with good energy, I can tell things are going well for you!!  Have a wonderful week as well.

Joan, I am too, maybe too much of an optimist (?)  I deal with things the way I want them to be...and more often then not they'll end up that way!

Marie, I feel it too but I don't spend too much time "dealing" with it, it's tiring....Once I deal with it I can let it go and that's wonderful for our bodies and minds.

Jackie, i will try and try to pull up a friend or client who is down all the time but there has to be some limit on our time and energy to protect ourselves.  There is, sadly, a point that I have to detach if it's constant.  And I'm so glad you're back!

Pam, It is true...I keep the news OFF most of the time because I am so saddened by everything that's going on near and far.  I used to be a news "junkie" and have become the opposite.

Cynthia, Good for you, it's probably one of the best things you can do for your own mental and pysical health.  I try to help as much as I can but there are "energy drains" around us....

Jo, Interesting that you brought up Ayurvedic, my brother used many of those methods to heal.  It's very sad that we had one place on Long Island and it closed down recently.  Eastern medicine took a long time to get here and I am thrilled that big names are finally speaking out about the benefits. I can't complain about playing...I always try to keep something lined up for that!

Rich, It is a great power...if we use it.  Hopefully even doctors can begin to at least explore other methods of healing they don't believe in.

Funny Carole - I used to ask every patient I cared for over 20 years how they thought things would turn out pre-operatively......

Nearly flawless accuracy in what a patient told me thier perceived outcome and what actually happened post-op.

I had one lil old Italian grandmother tell the doctor he was nuts ( she asked me to get him out of her room) - she ranted afterwards that she was gonna live and walk out of the hospital- she had her grandson's wedding in 4 weeks to attend to ! She was transferred after quadruple bypss to a stepdown unit after 3 days and out of the hospital in 7 - she dropped by to see us weeks later after a follow up visit with the wedding photos :)

If you think you can you can, If you think you can't you won't - either way - you are right :)

Awesome post

Sincerely,

Grace

Carole, another inspiring post. I totally agree that negative people drain energy from us while positive people make us feel full of energy and alive.

The most prestigious medical establishments are already researching alternative modes of healing. Just look at this website about the Osher Research Center at Harvard Medical School.

Grace, Thank you for that incredible story, it reminded me of my father.  He was dianosed and given one month to live but he had things he wanted to do.  When he'd done everything he wanted, he passed on...two YEARS later!

Griselda, Thank you so much for passing that website along, I have to go in and really read it but all I can say is it's about time.  I am SO glad people are starting to get it.

Jack, I have to keep my distance from people who continuously drain me....there are some people that seem to prefer to live a miserable life (and like others to come along with them).  Set bounderies even though it's hard...and thank you for commenting.

Carole, I read the "Law of Attraction" book and saw "The Secret" movie; however, I have not been as consistent as I should in my thoughts and energy. Then, I found myself drained by low energy events, your post remind me to keep track of my thoughts to attract what I want! Thanks!!!

Grace, I did, thank you and will be calling you very soon!  My absolute favorite thing to do!  Thank you!!

Carolina, It's easy to slip back into the old frame of mind and takes a while to keep "correcting" your thoughts and turning them back around--we weren't taught that way.  We have opportunities now, many of us, to raise our children that way which I find a joy!

Wonderful!  Well said, Carole (as always...I know, yadayada...)--I just can't help being a fan club!  (I almost said "fannie", but thought better of it...)

You are so right--and the other part of the message, to those, like myself, who have had focus issues and consistency issues:  STICK WITH IT--it gets easier!  Changing your mind is not such a simple process after all...

On another note--have you heard of Alex Grey?  I believe he's there in NYC--he does "Sacred Art" of a sort--I do believe I will blog about him, he's just that interesting...

Hi Carole,

Great post and oh so true. I read the Secret and The Law of Attraction and found The Law of Attration a far better book for me that is. Negative people do just suck the life out of you and sometimes you don't even know it until it is to late.

Very good post and comments, I have seen first hand the power of our thoughts when my Mom with cancer, willed herself to live 5years, when doctors said months.  Years ago I heard Earl Nightengale speak, and he stated we become what we think about.  Unfortunately I paid little attention.  Many years later I experienced various life changing events, not paying attention until a few years ago.  Two books that have changed my life..... Real Magic  and the Power of Intention, both by Dr. Wayne Dyer.   We are a culmination of our thoughts and words, put into action, what we think about so shall we become.

There is much to  be said about the energy around us, I know next to nothing about Feng Shui, think I will take it upon myself to learn more.  thanks for your post.

Loretta, So sorry I am late getting back to comments.  I haven't heard of Alex Grey but I am looking for some special artwork....can you put the blog up?  I'd love to see it!

Trace, They sure do and no matter who it is, we must keep some kind of boundaries with those negative people....they certainly do drain us and I don't allow it in my life anymore.

I just joined Loretta, thank you for the invitation!

Li, Thank you.  I don't know if I would have believed in it if I hadn't seen it and experienced it.

Arina, Different methods work for different people but Eastern "medicine" and philosophies do help cure.  I wish we could have more of it here covered by health care.

Hi, Thankyou for your comment.  i saw it with my father and will so many clients that came to the center.  I love Dr. Dyer, by the way and have read all his books. Feng Shui works with the energy in your surroundings which we believe has a tremendous impact on every area of your life.  It made perfect sense to me after learning about the energies in your body and I was drawn to it...it has helped many people.

Hi Carole - Very good points.  It's hard to get the courage to ask people to dump their negativity, someplace other than on me!

While I don't know as much about Feng Shui as I would like, much of the principles seem like common sense, once you understand them.

Carole- Attitude and perception...just that simple words.  They do in fact control so much of what we experience in life.......I call it destiny, and even destiny has a certain amount that we can control by our choices, and attitudes to them.

Margaret, Feng Shui can become so confusing due to all the schools of thought and all the different perspectives.  I hoped to dispel some very bad misconceptions with my posts.

Kathy, I couldn't have said it better, we do have control over most of the areas in our lives, even our health at times.  The things I have seen and experienced are just amazing.  It made me stop a long time ago and realize many things about another way to live.
