"People are like stained - glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the
sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed
only if there is light from within." ---Dr. Elisabeth Kublor-Ross
The stained glass squares in the window are from the home where I lived from birth until I was a teenager when I moved out to get married. Tripping Tuesday gives me a chance to reflect back on colors of the glass square windows where I would lay on the floor and imagine the world outside being red, purple, yellow, blue, pink, or orange. Clearly, I could see sky, trees, snow, sun, stars, rainbows, and rain. It was an old house built before the Great Chicago Fire. It was a house of opportunities and later became a landmark building.
Tripping Tuesday is an art I played from observation as young as I can remember, thinking about my space indoors and how each room was a classroom where I had something new to learn. For example, a house is just a structure with glass windows. I wondered if everyone had colors of glass squares and used their imagination to recreate red, purple, yellow, blue, pink, or orange sky?
The value of seeing the world through ones imagination is immense. It helped to have sunshine, snowflakes, raindrops, or frosted windows to see other opportunities. Every house has opportunities and everyone sees things differently, regardless of a child or person my age having fun tripping Tuesday (meaning look back and not with drugs) but by using imagination. In buying a home today, it helps to be transparent ---Patricia Feager
