Vizol Angami Koso was born in Viswema, British India back in 1914 to Notsore and Vichole. He attended Mission High School in Kohima. He continued his education at the Government High School in Shillong before graduating from St. Edmund’s College in Shillong. During World War II he joined the Royal Indian Air Force serving until 1946.
After being discharged he was a teacher at the John High School in Viswema. From 1953-56 he was the Principal of the Naga National High School. He served as the Vice President of the Naga People’s Convention from 1957-60. He was one of the founding members of the Kohima Science College in Jotsoma in 1961. He was elected to Nagaland People’s Council later to become the leader of the Opposition until 1964. He died in 2008, he was 93.
What you may not know about Vizol is that he was the first Naga (Royal Indian Air Force Pilot during World War II).
