On March 11, 2021, ATTOM Data Solutions reported nationwide there were 11,281 U.S. properties received a foreclosure filing default notices, scheduled auctions or bank repossessions in February of 2021, higher 16.0% from January of 2021, but fell 77.0% from February of 2020. Nationwide one in every 12,182 homes had a foreclosure filing in February of 2021.
Lenders foreclosed (REO) on a total of 1,545 U.S. properties in February of 2021, gained 8.0% from January of 2021, but dropped 85.0% from February of 2020.
State of Utah had the highest rate with one in every 3,883 homes were in foreclosure in February of 2021, and Provo, Utah Metro Area had the highest rate with one in every 787 homes in foreclosure in February of 2021.
It appears that forbearance period homeowners will be extended for several months.
