August!! Yes, I know lots of districts start early now! I remember when my boys were in school that school calendar was awesome and was on a huge wall in the kitchen along with all the other school activities! Great idea to share with all your readers!!

Cynthia  We have several jurisdictions that now have school all year or the greatest part of it.  The jury is still out on its success,  Karen

Cynthia - Come to think of it, the first day of school is not that far away.  I can't believe July is almost here.  This information is a great reminder that if they are relocated now is the time to get the school situation worked out.

Cynthia, Great points, with the stress of moving and going into a new environment, children should be comfortable with their school and hopefully have met a friend or two before it starts.

Hi Cynthia,

WOW ! , what great color. I downloaded the new system software today and it is very easy to to do the easy stuff. What is remarkable is that there are so awesome capabilities there and it is very cool. I have skimmed around and looked at things and an thrilled You have so kind to share this. I love the color spectrum idea so much better than just the primary colors , which I see above and it is so delightful. Thank You, Thank You.

Hi Sally,
Nobody wants to think about school right now but those moving must!  Thanks.

Hello Jo S.
I, too, remember when our lives revolved around the school calendar which was always posted on the inside of the pantry door.

Hello Karen,
There are some year round schools here too but they are in the minority.  Call me old fashioned but I like the idea of a summer vacation.  Whose benefit (convenience) are the year round schools for, the children or the working parents?

Jennifer,
Neither can I, in my mind 4th of July marks the middle of summer.  Where did the first half go?  I missed most of it somehow!

Hi Carole,
Now that is the ideal situation but I know it does not always work out that way.  I agree parents need to make every effort to see that children are as settled into a new area as possible.  Thanks.

Keith,
You are very welcome and I'll keep an eye out to see what you do with it.  Busy is good.

Hi Joan,
I know but these people need to get moving and be settled when school starts in June.  Sorry to rush your summer.

Hello Sonja,
Just trying to get the troops to think ahead and call me!

William,
My pleasure to share with you, that's what we do here in the Rain isn't it?  :0)

Teri,
Yes, I'm back but perhaps I will not be as visible as I have been in the past, must stay balanced.

Hey Cynthia!  I have been gone for a long time.  My middle child Rachel had renal failure.  Spent a few weeks in March at Duke Childrens Hospital.

Hope you are well.  How did you change your fonts?  Looks so much better than blah old one that I have been using!

Hello Katie,
I thought about you more than once.  So sorry to hear about your daughter's illness and I hope she is doing well now.
I use a free program called Nvu which you can download,  many font and color options.

Eleanor,
Now that is a stellar idea, I'm off to Vista Print.  Thanks!

Year around will start back up after the 4th. I have a neighbor that their child just had to change schools and go from traditional to year around. What an adjustment.
