That's a great idea to get everyone prepped with a calendar too!

August!! Yes, I know lots of districts start early now! I remember when my boys were in school that school calendar was awesome and was on a huge wall in the kitchen along with all the other school activities! Great idea to share with all your readers!!

Cynthia - Come to think of it, the first day of school is not that far away. I can't believe July is almost here. This information is a great reminder that if they are relocated now is the time to get the school situation worked out.

Cynthia, Great points, with the stress of moving and going into a new environment, children should be comfortable with their school and hopefully have met a friend or two before it starts.

There are some year round schools here too but they are in the minority. Call me old fashioned but I like the idea of a summer vacation. Whose benefit (convenience) are the year round schools for, the children or the working parents?

I thought about you more than once. So sorry to hear about your daughter's illness and I hope she is doing well now.
I use a free program called Nvu which you can download, many font and color options.

Year around will start back up after the 4th. I have a neighbor that their child just had to change schools and go from traditional to year around. What an adjustment.
