Online House Hunting is Much Like Internet Dating…

Hello Wanda - real estate can prompt a long list of comparisons to many activities.  Dating - online or in real life - is but another one.  Proper preparation.  Realistic expectations.  So many others. . .      

Hi Wanda... a great analogy. I always tell my clients that the internet is a better place to eliminate homes than to select homes. Once they've eliminated those of no interest, they need to go and see the others first-hand.

I can't imagine choosing a home without seeing it in person. Even virtual tours can't provide the sensory input that's needed.

Hi Wanda.... see it; feel it; smell it; listen to what sounds are heard and then you can call it a showing.... 

What an interesting analogy, especially the comparison of photos online and the real deal.  I do believe I will stick to real estate and give my wife a hug instead.

Hi Wanda- yes, a very good analogy. You miss so much when you aren't able to see something in person and it works both ways. You may rule out a property (or person) that didn't look good online but does in person and conversely, you could get totally excited about a property you see online only to be disappointed when you finally see it in real life. 

There is no replacement for seeing a home in person with one's own two eyes and I caution the buyers that are relying on a video of the home or even my personal thoughts on the home.
