Alumni Associations offer networking opportunities galore.  Join one and a whole new niche may open.

Often, they offer business networking events, mixers, gym memberships, and use of business facilities.

A whole group of people with whom to meet in a variety of environments, and you already have something in common!

Sometimes, there are local chapters even if you no longer live anywhere nearby.  And don't forget about ads that you may run in university/college publications.

Just check out your school's website.  You might be surprised by what you find.  Alumni blogs and all!

In addition, if you are near a university or college, you have faculty members who just may need housing.  I discovered that quite a few invest.

8 Comments on Marketing Venues? Don’t forget Alma Mater!

You know Marie, I've been thinking about getting in touch with ALL my alumni associations (4 of them).  I do think that is a great idea!  That just became an A priority.

Hi Dana ... I was amazed at the networking opportunites I've been missing.

Marie, This is a wonderful idea....and would also be a great way to see people you wouldn't normally see!  Funny how we sometimes miss things that are great for marketing and fun too.  Thank you for the idea.

Hi Carole ... you're welcome!  I think we tend to put that part of our lives behind us.

Wow what a great idea Marie.  I attended BSU and many people stay in Idaho.

I never really thought of faculty for investing.  Most around here don't make enough money!

Ruthmarie ... It depends on the location of the institution.  If property values are low, it can make for a nice investment.  Some rent out to students.  Also, the institution itself often looks to expand into certain areas where they will buy up houses for administrative use.  In my area where salaries are rather low all around, faculty salaries can be well above the norm.  It's all relative.
