This isn't the blog you're looking for...
Or is it??
*******************************************************************************
Blogging takes on many forms, as unique as the writer.
I've got my own particular approach and there are other bloggers in the Rain that you wouldn't need the header section to easily identify the writer.
Whether my blog IS what you're looking for totally depends upon what you're looking for.
Pure entertainment? I'm not the best source.
You're a consumer looking for low maintenance living options in the Greater Cincinnati area? Let's talk patio homes and condos, somewhere in my blog posts I've probably got exactly what you're looking for, and if not, a quick phone call and I can probably answer your questions.
Over the years what I've chosen to write about has altered significantly. Early on I'd have touched on most any topic just to develop the habit of blogging. Many posts that never had a chance of generating a single consumer phone call were fashioned and released to the wild, and while they may have provided me points, they were kind of pointless in the grand scheme of developing business.
Over time (and thanks to some willing teachers in the Rain), I learned what would work and what wouldn't work for my particular market and my specific personality. YMMV of course, but for me, targeting our patio home niche, new construction, subdivisions and other long tail search terms are what cause my phone to ring.
The more you understand your target audience and what THEY need, the better the odds of your blog becoming what they ARE indeed looking for.
You can mix in whatever you want (for the most part), as long as the strength of your blog is providing what that audience is looking for.
And once you find that audience, you just may be able to selectively wave your hand at some people that give you that red flag feeling. Not every contact is worth pursuing.
