Philippians 2:12-13
“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed —not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”
I want you to imagine for a minute that you are mentoring someone because you have been living a life in fullness of God’s promises. Along with that imagine that you have obeyed the Lord and followed his ways not only when you felt God close to you, but even when it seemed like you are on your own. What would you share about being a follower of God if you were mentoring someone also looking to live a life of purpose?
I for sure would say it has been an experience of growth! That I have experienced the love and grace of God over and over. And the awe and wonder of the Lords goodness as caused me to continue to work out my salvation. I have experienced time and time again the Lord working in my and willing me to act according to his good purpose.
I have also experienced the Lord allowing me to drift into my own free will of worldly living. Its not all bad when I stumble because I have experienced many times the hand of God picking me back up and urging me into life in his kingdom. And perhaps some of those stumbles, even the self inflicted ones, have truly allowed me to see what God can do working in me vs what I can do on my own.
LORD I CONTINUE TO WORK OUT MY SALVATION. I ASK YOU TO CONTINUE TO WORK IN ME TO WILL ME TO ACT ACCORDING TO YOUR GOOD PURPOSES AND TO SHINE MY LIGHT SO OTHERS CAN SEE THE WORK YOU HAVE DONE IN ME!
