I received a call from a realtor who had an apartment listed I looked on the mls and it looked lovely to me... I couldn't really understand and he continued on the phone that just to please come to the home for a consultation.  He'd already convinced the homeowner.  So I did.

The apartment was fabulous.... interior decorated, fabulous views.... super great it was a bachelor that owned it... then I got to the bedroom, omg...  mirrored ceiling, mirrors everywhere, video cam in the corner, and a pole for stripping... ok I try not to show much emotion as I've seen a lot of different things in homes, different tastes, styles that aren't mine....I burst out laughing.

I couldn't help picture some really proper couple coming to purchase this lovely condo then walking into this sex den....I was killing myself laughing.  I have a sheet of helpful hints for homeowners what should not ever be seen during a showing...

I now have to add.... stripper poles, video cams and mirror locations....hahhaaha

The homeowner accepted my bid and his home just recently sold after only 5 days after I staged the bedroom!!!

So did you insist he take down the pole, or did you attach hanging baskets to it maybe?

Christina~ I can't say I have ever seen any of that in my lifetime, but I still have a lot of years yet...  GREAT example of just how important staging CAN be!!

Yes I made him take down the pole, (I didn't want to touch it)

I had thought if it was Christmas I could have wrapped it in Garland...LOL

my husband though asked which picture was the before and which was the after....he thought the before was better...(MEN ugh)

Christina, I think I would have lost it myself.  What was he thinking to not clear that room out himself first.  Did he really think the sex den would help the condo sell.  (LMAO for real)

I can't stop laughing about this one.  It reminds me of Pillow Talk with Doris Day and Rock Hudson where she decorates his apartment as a sex den.  Very funny!

Christina,

I understand that pole dancing classes are one of the more popular new form of aerobics classes offered now....(and the check is in the mail, etc.).......

So, did you like wrap the pole in red and white so it looked like a big Christmas candy?  This is way too funny...

HI Christina,  way tooo funny!  I love it. After working way too many hours this has definitely lightened my day.

I always phrase it to the client and the Realtor this way... what do you want people to leave here talking about? The house or your........

When you say it that way they see that they are trying to sell the house not their belongings. The story that the Realtors see on their caravan open house tour is the story that they repeat to everyone about the property. That is why Staging to create the first impression is so important.

P.S. your husband is one funny guy!  ;)

How funny!!  Did they really think it was okay to show their house that way?????  They must be perverts AND dumb.

Lol... I had one consultation where there was a stage (yep, a stage) in the bedroom... I jokingly said to the agent that now all we needed was a pole.  How funny that yours actually had one!  I think I would have burst out laughing as well!

The reason that I didn't put a picture online is that I gave my word to the client I would not ever use it.

I do love the stage fact others have come up with some very interesting accessories as well.  A Stage in the bedroom...boy oh boy....

I would have lived to see the before and after photos, but understand that your client wouldn't want his secret uncovered.

This wouldn't have any chance been the home of Tommy Lee and his ex Pamela Anderson.  I understand that at one time in addition to a stripperpole the open shower was in the master sleepin area.  They are divorced so officially he is a bachelor.  What we get to see and wish we hadn't.

I think it all depends on what you are selling...  In real estate, it is best to take play it safe rather than marketing to the small segment of the population who lists mirrored ceilings on their wish list.

Hey the man knows how to have a good time....

The striper pole is easy to take down, just unscrew the top and bottom extension bolts, then he can put it back up!

Striper pole=$100 dollars

Fun a striper pole adds= Pricless
