We define the receptive state of mind as being tuned in, tapped in and eager to see what it is in front of your nose (the obvious) that will be of benefit you.
We would describe the receptive state of mind as a happy mind. Happy people attract happy people, happy circumstances and easy solutions to problems. They don't anticipate resistance, they anticipate results. Things always workout for them.
"Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy. No person will make you happy unless you decide to be happy. Your happiness will not come to you. It can only come from you."
~ Ralph Marston
Unhappy people anticipate road blocks, and they get them by the dozen. They can state facts and statistics that all kinds of problems exist on their way to their goal. They are so sure of this, that if you were to give them the solution, they would not comprehend it or see it.
"Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections."
~ Gerard Way
They are more intent on emphasizing the problems and the difficuties rather than seeing the light ahead. They will often say, "I see what you mean, BUT!" At which point, if you continue, you will yourself agreeing with them, and feeling bad as a result.
During this crazy last year with the health crisis, we have stayed away even more than ever from the news, negative people and all the experts who predicted the end of the world.
We stayed happy and healthy, we found ways to enjoy even more what we have and we grew even happier as a result. We saw it as an opportunity, rather than a hindrance.
Our secret is taking fifteen minutes every day to meditate, just to sit relax and be a human being instead of a human doing. Let the thoughts fly, and find the stillness of inspiration. Be mindful, in the moment... all there is that moment--now!
"The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts."
~ Marcus Aurelius
"Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life."
~ Omar Khayyam
