A memory popped up on my Facebook page. It was a message from an agent who sat on-site for a local home builder. I am so very thankful that she is integrity-driven.
Some residential builders and their on-site reps, refuse to honor established relationships, boldly telling your clients and mine, that they'd rather deal directly with them.
A local agent is telling consumer's to go directly to the builder, that they will save money (ha!). One even went so far as to say that to a buyer agent's under contract clients!
Seasoned agents realize it is crucial for consumers to be represented by experienced professionals who know and fully understand the in's and out's of new construction processes.
Some recent creative builder model requirements:
-- Must register clients with the builder - relaying all your clients information to them
-- Re-register within 6 months or builder absorbs your clients - giving you the boot
-- Being present with buyers is required or you are cut completely out of the transaction
Mutual business respect within the industry is crucial and people's memories of how they are treated will remain longer than a brisk market. I appreciate Angie for her honest approach.
