NATIONAL KISS OF HOPE DAY
Each year on the last Saturday in April, National Kiss of Hope Day encourages couples and parents to express their love for one another. The day also encourages participatants to help be a part of exciting fund-raising ideas to help amazing charities all over the world.
It's estimated that nearly half of all American households are one $500 emergency away from becoming homeless-and that was before the plague years of COVID-19.
Approximately 40 million people struggle to put food on the table and nearly 2.3 million are at risk of eviction each year. Sometimes a medical condition causes expenses to rise. If the primary breadwinner is laid-off, budgets are stretched. Unexpected repairs to a car or other unplanned expenses make it difficult to make ends meet.
Organizations around the country help those who need to just make it through the month. Food pantries offer supplementary groceries. Others help with shelter in times of need. Some donate services, making repairs.
