Minot's Downtown is Pretty Uptown!
I'm sure there are a million reasons as to why Minot's downtown is as vibrant as it has been for years but all indicators are showing that this summer may be its biggest growth year since it's inception 135 years ago.
Maybe it's the clever marketing through Visit Minot or maybe it's the popularity brought on by the new trendy restaurants and shops like The Titus & Philemon Art Gallery.
Maybe it even has something to do with shops and services like Ward County Notary Service who give YOU the freedom to choose if you want to mask or not mask.
The last two times I've been to the mall (twice in 3 months) I came away with two major impressions... 1) How dead the mall was... 2) How many vacant store fronts there were.
Don't misunderstand, I do not take pleasure in the big mall failing BUT I am really pleased to see Minot's downtown thriving.
With the City of Minot's recent purchase of the old Wells Fargo Bank building, with the intent of moving all city offices into it, all shops and services located downtown should benefit greatly.
My office is located at the intersection of Main Street and Second Avenue Southeast as is the new City offices (but across the street). I'm thinking of rolling my Hot Dog cart and Popcorn cart out on the corner during lunch hours on good weather days to pick up a little extra cash from the City employees once the BIG move takes place.
Maybe it's time for YOU to consider renting a space downtown and staking your claim before the big Gold Rush of 2021 - 2022 in Minot North Dakota.
