Why Is Sedona Weather Almost Perfect?
April has been nothing like March. We had a little of every temperature range as well as 7.5 inches of snow. One thing we appreciate is there is nothing hum-drum about the weather. Maybe it was the snow but March didn't feel as warm as normal. But, as April came in, there were 11 days of 80º weather in the first 12 days!
It felt like someone turned on the lightswitch and Spring was here! It was time to take all the coverings off the plants as well as pack away the hummingbird feeder warmers.
We had no freezing temps and the lowest temperature was about 36º. for about an hour. The mean temp was almost 1º higher than in April of 2020. The high temp for the month was 10º higher than March 2021 but 6º lower than April of 2020. Last year, we had 3 days in the 90ºs.
Drought Conditions Once Again!
Last March, we got enough rain and snow to help minimize the effects of a drought. However, this month, Sedona only got one-tenth of an inch of rain. We need more rain!
Making The Case...
So, when you put it all together, Sedona's weather is pretty darn good. Did I mention it doesn't get humid? This is another plus in my book. No real hot sticky or bone-chilling weather, simply because of the lack of humid conditions. Even when it is warm, mornings and evenings are cool. That means you can have windows open bringing in our Sedona fresh air. We do not run the AC all day. In April, the AC only ran about 2 hours during the entire 12 days at the beginning of the month.

A *Comfort Index of 8.0 Means Very Pleasant Temps
This April, almost the entire month was above 72º. After leaving behind a fairly chilly March, April was almost perfect. There were only a couple of days that we put the AC on and that was only for a short time.
Every morning and evening, the doors and windows could be open to allow that fresh air in as noted above! A 50º temperature is spring-like in Sedona. Low humidity means light sweater conditions.
Sedona Real Estate Spring Selling Season Starts In January
As I have said before, the Sedona spring selling season starts in mid to late January. Many people from colder states are visiting and want to see homes or condo get-aways. Of course, Cactus League Baseball season which started in late February brings baseball fans and Snowbirds to Sedona and Arizona to take advantage of the warmer weather, celebration of Valentines' Day, Presidents Weekend, Spring Break, and did I mention the much warmer weather! Hiking is also huge this time of year. even though the pandemic had brought all of this to a halt, this year, the state has opened slowly and tourism has bounced back significantly.
