Friday Photo: Wine Country Landscaping/Two Styles!

We appreciated this beautiful row of lavender bushes, lining the entry to the Gainey winery.  We even stopped to smell the lavender.  The lavender attracts bees. The more bees the better the crops.

Other wineries like Rusack pictured above have a different style of entrance.  Rusack is located way out in the country, and is not easy to access.  Gainey on the other hand if off the highway, and their formal look attracts drivers.

Both wineries are beautiful and make wonderful wines.  It depends on one's exploration quotient.

Alexandra, funny you should mention these two wineries, have not had Gainey in years and not sure if I had Rusack. I was talking with some one yesterday and they were planning to go  up to Paso Robles for the weekend  and he told me now you need to make appointments even for wine tasting? I guess they are not politically connected:)Endre

Endre,

I think that may be waning soon, as we can now have 50% restaurant seating.  We are not tasting these days.  A

The landscaping is good enough as it is but two styles is extra gravy and biscuits! ;)

Both landscaping appeal to me for different reasons.  I generally enjoy visiting wineries in fall, when the leaves begin to turn a beautiful shade of amber.  But, in springtime, when the vines are beginning to sprout, there is such a hopeful feeling in the air.
