I just read this.  They were sued today by CA and Ill.  WA announced pulling their license.  The board approved a buyout by B of A.  Busy Day.  Not to mention the other charges and claims already existing against them.

Ron,

The link did not work for me either.  Do you thing that will stay with Bank of America buying them? If I am not mistaken that was approved today also.

They were talking about this on the news today, I did not get to hear all of it so I will watch it again tonight.  The link did not work for me either.  Have a great day and welcome to AR.

I apologize for the problem with the link.  Somehow, it gets blocked, so you have to cut & paste it in your browser.

Larry,

The shareholder's from Countrywide voted today to accept the Bank of America offer.  It is a strange coincidence that the same day the deal is ratified by the shareholder's is the same day that 3 states go after them.  The conspiracy theorist in me believes that they think there is money that they can get from B of A now.

I think the regulatory authorities have to do something to demonstrate that the behavior will not be permitted in the future.  However, once Bank of America takes over they will probably be able to work out the details and get around the issue.  There was so much wide spread abuse and fraud that the regulators can't sit back and do nothing.

Florida joined in the feeding frenzy by adding another lawsuit this week.  That makes 4.

Yes... action taken in several states just as they sort of become part of another company. I'm wondering how they're going to work this one out.
