To the casual observer, this just looks like one duck but look closer, there is more that meets the eye. This male duck stands guard while the female searches around for food.
 
 
He looks left, then right as she diligently forages. She is his life mate and he will warn her or fight off any other animal that attempts to do harm. Be more like this duck.
 
 
Protect with loving care, what is most valuable to you in life because in an instant it can all change. Written in loving memory of Lottie Kendall, a beautiful soul, gone too soon.

At first, I only saw him because he is brightly colored and then suddenly she moved Ron and Alexandra Seigel. This act of protection on behalf of the male duck to his mate spurned the post and thought it was befitting to dedicate to Lottie.

At first, I did the same Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP and then realized that she is camouflaged for reasons that nature provides. He is the great protector and risks everything so that she can safely forage.

Instincts play a large part in nature and this duck's protective behavior would be considered chivalrous in human form Kathy Streib. Sweet Lottie always had a supporting, kind comment when visiting member's posts. She is already missed!

Several years ago, I lost a younger sister to cancer, Grant Schneider, who had just hit the 50 year mark. It was devastating, as we planned to spend our later years growing old together. That horrible disease has no boundaries and also affects the heart with enormous grief and overwhelming feelings of loss.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear younger sister. Tragedies like that are not supposed to happen in families. I'm sure there isn't a day, a holiday, anniversary, or a memory that doesn't escape you. Your bond as sisters must have been so special. Although taken too soon, may you always remember the good times of how lucky you were to have had such a wonderful sister. I wish she was still with you.
