Value of real estate services

I mentioned in a previous entry that I (Realtors) provide value among many ways, but one being a resource for helping buyers and sellers with vendors, home inspectors and more.  While I provide this information, I usually try and give at least 3 individuals I can recommend for any service.  Sometimes, it's only 2, but I always have at least 2 recommendations.  I like for the buyers and sellers to make the decision on who to choose.  Certainly, here in Florida, with the price of insurance, I'll provide some names, but tell them to check around, rates can vary and in fact finding someone who will write a policy is challenging here (depending on age of home, condition, etc).

But our value comes in more of course than being a resource for service personnel.  Making sure time lines are met, that the buyers and sellers are aware of everything they need to be and (doing) to get a contract to closing.  We help buyers and sellers so much just in the time alone that we save them because we're taking care of business for them.  I guess that's why our time is our money.  How much are you earning an hour?

I will always try and give two or three but most times they ask .. who would you go with and I try and say check them all out .. but then I feel like I am not standing behind my referrals. Much like if you walk into a restaurant and ask what good and the waiter says its all good.. I want to hear ...hmm based on blah blah blah ,,, I would go with X .

I use to give 3 names and now I fit the client with the person who I feel is best for them, as far as liability is concerned, no matter how many names we give to clients it still comes from us so I just give one name, If I feel the client could be a problem, I tell them to look in the yellow pages, that way it is not a liability for me,

Since we are a resource center I offer up three names of qualified professionals.  Most time they want me to decide on who would work best.  It helps to have them sign off on the choices.
