First hospital built in New York State in over 20 years.  The hospital will have seven floors consisting of 354 rooms built on 61 acres.  This new facility will improve health care, in Orange, Sullivan Counties and the entire region.  Orange Regional Medical Center was created in 2002 through the merger of Horton Medical Center in Middletown and Arden Hill Hospital in Goshen.  The center has approximately 550 doctors and nearly 2,k600 employees. Making it the second largest employer in Orange County.  The hospital currently serves 21,000 patients annually and accommodates 60,000 emergency room visits and more than 800,000 outpatients visits.  Tentative plans have the new medical center completed by 2011.
