On May 11, 2021, National Association of Realtor (NAR) reported on nationwide existing home sales values jumped 16.2% to a median single family home price was $319,200 at the end of 1st quarter of 2021, from the end of 1st quarter of 2020.
The most expensive housing market was San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, California Metro area an average price of a home was $1.5 million, and a buyer needed $242,682 income to buy a median single family home in the 1st quarter of 2021 according to Quintin Simmons of on May 11, 2021.
NAR chief economist Lawrence Yun, stated "The record-high home prices are happening across nearly all markets, big and small, even in those metros that have long been considered off-the-radar in prior years for many home seekers."
