A Major Highway Shuts Down in Denver for an entire Weekend

Denver already has issues with traffic here in Denver, and doesn't really matter what day or in fact what time it is on any given day. You could get stuck in traffic in a standstill mid-day on a Saturday! We have experienced a huge influx of new residents over the last few years and the highways have not kept up with the increase.

I-70 the east/west highway going through Denver had an elevated portion east of I-25 that was in bad condition, and CDOT had approved a huge project to relocate the road. This road has been under construction for quite a while, and tough to travel during rush hour.

This weekend a portion of the highway (a few miles) will be COMPLETELY shut down from Friday night to Monday 5 am.

Yesterday the traffic was terrible anywhere close to this area due to detouring to avoid this highway. It sure will be nice when the highway is complete!

Hi Joan... we have part of I-77 near Rock Hill, SC shut down for the Catawba Bridge construction since May 6th...supposedly opens today. We'll see. Fortunately, I almost never have to travel that way.

Nina Hollander, Broker had to show all around this closed area of the highway Saturday, and traffic was just miserable. No great way to get from one area to another. Was REALLY glad to get out of the car by the end of the day!
