Hello?!?!  Is anyone there?  Seriously - is there some kind of written law somewhere in the bible of real estate that says after June 15 all licensed agents must hibernate in order to survive the long summer?

It never ceases to amaze me how, as a collective, we stop working.

Now, please, don’t misunderstand.  I am not talking about you, or me, or the amazing agents you know and love.  I am talking about the 85% of the other people, who got licensed, never come to the office, never go to trainings, and who never know what they’re doing.

I’m talking about the person who does 1 deal a year and calls themselves a Realtor.

In the month of May, the branch I manage had the best month in more than 3 years.  June looks the same.

What do I see in my people?  What magic are they performing?

It’s called work!  They show up, and make things happen.

And where did their clients come from?  Ask those hibernating.

I see that in our area all the time.. partially due to being in a resort area, and partially due to the kids being out of school.  I would imagine that the misconception in your are is that DC is quiet in the summer months?

either way it is a self fulfilling prophesy... if you think it will be slow and dont work.. it will be slow!

We have nice cool summers and I haven't noticed agents taking off in droves.  November and December finds alot more who've stopped working.

I wish those "Realtors" and I use the term loosely - never wake up from their Hibernation and go back to working for the Government.
