I had a great chat with Doug earlier today. He was explaining what Guidant could do for those wanting to invest in real estate using their IRAs. Although I've written a book concerning Private Mortgage Investing, Doug was full of great advice and tips. For instance, I had NO IDEA how much custodial IRAs can cost in fees - the kind that nickel and dime you to death. And I also didn't quite understand the name "custodial." It is truly a parent child relationship. You have an idea. You have to ask "mom." Mom waits a week and finally says yes. In the meantime, your investment could be gone. 

So, Doug explained how creating an LLC is a great way to change all of that. Now, he's the expert on that end (I'll stick with what I know - PMI!). So, if you have any questions, I'm sure he'd love to answer them for you!

Thanks Doug. I like learning new things and I really like finding someone with the same "educate the consumer" attitude!

He really knows his stuff. What I like the most is that he told you what he knew and then gave you places to go and check to see if he was telling you the truth. Custodial IRAs sound pretty good, but unless you are making a good rate on your returns, their fees can eat into your earnings pretty quickly.
