Throwback Thursdays...Seems Like Yesterday and Yet So Long Ago

This month’s June Challenge has me looking back at last year. I decided to look at my photos from a year ago.

Even though our salons and restaurants opened in May of 2020 (with precautions and certain restrictions) we still exercised the precautions others were taking...masks, hand washing, and physical distancing.

When Kickerillo-Mischer where we walk got too crowded, we found an adjacent walking path with beautiful fountains. All we had to do was walk through a gate and there it was.

Hardly anyone was on it so we didn’t have to worry about walking in and around groups of walkers who seemed to take up the width of the walking path.

So if you can make lemonade out of lemons, this path became our lemonade.  There isn’t as much wildlife on it but you can’t beat the fountains.

Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment, and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Gilda Radner

Hi Kathy Streib - that is really great lemonade.  I think that Kat Palmiotti found her lemonade in the ultimate social distancing in her blog.

Good for you Kathy and Larry for finding this path, I would miss the wildlife but the fountains sound nice.

A change in route, whether by choice or forced, will more often than not bring a pleasent surprise.  That can be phyically or mentally in my opinion.  Make it a great day.  Mark

Wayne Martin I agree. If we can look at change as opening new doors for us, it can be a really good thing.

Hi Sham Reddy CRS Thank you and appreciate your being here.

Michael Jacobs I agree and I think those adaptations keep us on our toes and full of life.

Kat Palmiotti life would be so boring if we walked the same path every day.

Brian England it's very open here! I suspect that washing our hands more frequently will stay with us and that's a good thing.

Nina Hollander, Broker exactly. we can make our own lemonade and not have to follow a certain recipe.

Carol Williams I'm the same way. If you travel to the midwest, go to KC and the Plaza! Lots of fountains.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel same page for sure. Larry and I chose not to moan and complain but go about living our lives.

Ed Silva We were out for lunch today and reminded each other that we need to be patient if service is slow because businesses are having a hard time finding staff.

Thank you Roy Kelley

Grant Schneider I need to head over there now.

Will Hamm it was a great alternative when we felt that the walking paths were overcrowded, but yes, we missed seeing the wildlife.

Rocky Dickerson well there's nothing wrong with that!!!  Or some Tequila and Cointreau and bring on the chips and salsa.

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint that's the perfect way to look at it.

Good suggestion, Kathy. I was in Kansas City several times in 2013 and spent quite a bit of time at the Plaza. Fun place to take pictures.

I love the video of the fountains in the pond, Kathy.  It reminds me of a similar scene at a park near my home.

2020 seems like a lost year to me. Rick and I didn't really miss the social stuff, except for family. All the lost birthday parties and gatherings with the kids and grandbabies. I'm looking forward to a more "normal" year this year.

We all certainly had to make adjustments since the pandemic began, some more pleasant than others.

Love Gilda Radner's quote.
