According to the June 19th comScore press release "In May 2008, Americans conducted 10.8 billion core searches, with Google Sites increasing its market share slightly."

The report continued:

"In May, Google Sites’ share of core searches reached 61.8 percent, up from 61.6 percent the previous month. Yahoo! Sites ranked second with a 20.6 percent share (up from 20.4 percent the prior month), followed by Microsoft Sites (8.5 percent), AOL LLC (4.5 percent), and Ask Network (4.5 percent)."

There is no doubt Google is the steak and the potatoes in the search industry. If you are serious about improving your Internet marketing ability you need to strongly consider how you can improve your Google search results. Search Engine Marketing must be a part of any businesses marketing plan. Local businesses can make their mark using tools like ActiveRain if there is a focused strategy and effort.

Google has been the best for a while, in my opinion, and since they have made it into the tool bar for microsoft they will continue to grow and gain in stregnth.

To tell you the truth, I haven't been able to figure out how to get my new website moving.  There are 100's of suggestions out there.  I would appreciate some feedback and advice from all of you.

I am trying to get as many posts and links to our site as we can that will help in the organic searches and looking into a company that can help boost our ranking as well

I have been using google adwords for a while now and it has worked well>  I joined AR to try get the same results for less money

This is why you have to make sure you know what is important to Google and Yahoo.   The rest will follow.  Between the two that is over 80%, WOW!  It almost says not to worry about anything else.

Derenda - You are absolutely correct. If you can obtain top results in Google you have won half the battle. The second half is converting that traffic into leads and sales!
