O-M-G! You'll never guess what happened...
Part of the Code of Ethics talks about by keeping client/agent conversations confidential, rather than sharing with fellow agents, the client's family members and anyone outside of the transaction.
Other COE duties include:
- Loyalty
- Care
- Obedience
- Accounting
- Disclosure
Relaying client/agent information to a willing audience on social media sites without the express consent of a buyer/seller says much about the author but also opens that person up to potential litigious action.
We can all use more inspirational stories of dealings between clients, agents and affiliates. They fail to gain quite the same amount of attention as wildly flourished, over-exaggerated or salacious interactions. Right?!
Attention-mongers willingly spin stories online to be in the good graces of like-minded people, for clicks and 'Likes' on Facebook. For them, it satisfies the inner need for adoration and might increase followship.
Thank goodness, honesty, integrity, and professionalism still remain in the real estate industry. Clients want to be assured that you are representing them well and confidently have their best interests in mind.
Need to vent? Talk with a broker or write it out in a journal. There is no need whatsoever, to go online and put them on blast. My goal is to close every transaction with smiles all around, so far, so good!
